China Glaze 2012 Summer Neons (Swatches and Review)

With beach weather right around the corner, China Glaze has twelve new neon shades in their Summer Neons collection.

This is by far my favourite neon collection yet. Aren’t they like any other neon polishes, you may ask? Not at all. Most of the polishes in this collection have a iridescent shimmer to them, which makes them the perfect go-to this summer.

Here are the swatches for China Glaze’s Summer Neons.

Note: 2-3 coats were used per polish

Sun-Kissed

China Glaze Sun-Kissed is one of the brightest colours in this collection. It is a shimmery highlighter yellow which is perfect for this upcoming season.

I’m With The Lifeguard

China Glaze I’m With The Lifeguard is a shimmery highlighter green. I was definitely pleased formula wise with this colour.

Orange You Hot?

China Glaze Orange You Hot? is a shimmery neon orange with silver / yellow shimmer shimmer.

Flirty Tankini

China Glaze Flirty Tankini is a neon coral with pink shimmer. My camera wouldn’t quite catch this polish, but it is one of my favourites from this collection, reason being that it is not a common shade.

Pink Plumeria

China Glaze Pink Plumeria is a soft orange-pink colour. It has some pink shimmer to it, which I find super cute.

Love’s a Beach

China Glaze Love’s a Beach is a fuchsia-like pink with purple shimmer.

Hang-Ten Toes

China Glaze Hang-Ten Toes is a bright neon pink with a little purple shimmer to it.

Surfin’ For Boys

Under The Boardwalk

China Glaze Under The Boardwalk is a purple-red colour that has no shimmers to it.

Splish Splash

China Glaze Splish Splash is a bright blue shimmer.

Ride The Waves

China Glaze Ride The Waves was one of the most difficult polishes to work with in this collection. It has a jelly finish to it, and even with four coats, it refused to be opaque enough.

Formula wise, I found these polishes to be on the thicker side. If you plan on trying them out, I recommend waiting a few minutes in between coats so that you’re not left with a big mess.

Overall, I am really satisfied with this collection. My favourite polishes would have to be Pink Plumeria, Hang-Ten Toes, and I’m With The Lifeguard. As for my least favourite, I’d have to go with Ride The Waves and Under The Boardwalk.

If you’re searching for polishes to add to your collection, why not give some of these a try.

After looking at the swatches, which ones are now on your wishlist?

  1. Ack, I’m crazy amounts of jealous! It looks like you got one of the slightly faded bottles of Under the Boardwalk, like Jen at ThePolishaholic! I’m actually much more fond of that shade than the more purple tone it’s supposed to be. :P I’m going to have to keep searching as I don’t like my purple one as much as the pinkish!
