Essie Polishes (Swatch and Review)

A few weeks ago I purchased Essie’s Borrowed & Blue, from Essie’s 2011 Wedding Collection and today, I purchased Shine Of The Times, from the Luxeffects Collection. from I decided to pair the two together, and this is what I ended up with… (don’t mind the cuticles!)

I officially love these two polishes paired together. Borrowed & Blue is a light pastel blue while Shine Of The Times is filled with flakies, which are orange / yellow-like depending on the lighting. I applied two coats of Borrowed & Blue and one coat of Shine Of The Times. If you’re looking for more of a full-coverage from Shine Of The Times, I suggest you use two coats.

Overall, I love that Shine Of The Times transforms any nail polish. Looking to do something simple yet not boring? Give this a try.

What are some of your favourite from Essie’s Luxeffects Collection?

  1. I have Shine of the Times as well although, I’ve not gotten around to using it just yet (I have a major nail polish addiction so there are multiple bottles still awaiting use). I really like the swatches that I’ve seen of Borrowed and Blue but sadly I’ve not come across it where I live. Have you seen Essie’s Mirror Metallics collection yet? I am slowly posting swatches of the whole collection on my blog if you’re interested.
