Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Colour + Care (Swatches and Review)

Last week I received five polishes from the Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Colour + Care collection. Today, I’m bringing you swatches and a review of those polishes.

The five polishes, in the order they appear, are:

  • Sea – Pale Mint Green
  • Whisper – Soft Lilac
  • Sorbet – Creamy Peach
  • Dune – Light Nude
  • Fog – Pearly White

Let’s get started with the swatches…

  • Allows 20% more oxygen to reach nails
  • Streak-free
  • Smooth finish

If you’ve been following this blog for a while now, you probably know that I’m not such a huge fan my nail line showing. In all honestly though, I have to admit that I kind of didn’t mind it, for once. The colours are all pastel and have gorgeous shimmer running through them. Who can say no to shimmer?

Formula wise, the polishes went on super sheer. In the photos above, I applied three coats from each of the polishes. It’s definitely buildable, if you’re looking for a fully opaque look. You just need to be super patient, and wait for each coat to dry before applying another layer, or else you’re in for a huge mess!

As for the brush, I’m one to love the wider ones. When it comes to this line by Sally Hansen, I feel it would have been easier to work with a smaller one though.  The wider brush can cause some dripping into the cuticle area if you aren’t super careful and patient with your application, as the polishes are a bit runny.

All in all, I love the feel of these polishes on my nails. They make my nails feel super smooth to touch. If you’re patient and are looking for softer non-streaky shades this season, give these a try!

Have you tried any of the polishes in the Smooth and Perfect line? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I am admittedly a little over pastels after being bombarded with them this spring and felt the same about these initially. However, upon getting a closer look these are quite nice and I love that they are shimmery. So pretty!

  2. Sorry to be a hater but these are not for me. The shimmer with the light color looks too frosty for my liking. However- if I saw them in person I might change my mind. That’s happened once or twice or every time I think I don’t like something. :p

    • They are more on the sheer side, and if you’re more into pigmented colours and such, then these are not the ones for you. I know I’ve always been into brighter colours / colours that become opaque opaque, but after giving these a try i actually like them!
